Snowy Days

I’m back.

The past few days have been an adventure.  Saturday morning I bid my faithful Quizz adieu and headed out toward Jackson, TN.  I knew that there was a winter storm coming in so I wanted to get to Jackson in the daylight.

Well the travel and weather gods were all smiling on me.  10.5 hours later I rolled into my friend’s driveway.  45 minutes after that, the sleet hit, an additional 30 minutes after that, 6-inches of snow started to fall.

Let me tell you, snow and Southerners, not a good mix.

Sunday morning my mom called to say it was snowing in Richmond, again later that day, it was STILL snowing and I could tell it to stop any time.  I am the snow removal crew of the household.

Quizz missed me the first day, but finally went over to his Maddie’s house and then found his inner snow dog.

Yippeee! Snow!

Yippeee! Snow!

He’d forgotten it existed for a moment.  Despite his thin coat he thinks he is a malamute.

The memorial went as well as could be expected.  Lots of good memories shared with family and friends.

Headed home on Wednesday and once more the travel and weather gods smiled upon me.  But the burning question remains.  Why do the 18-wheeler rigs pass their compatriots on an incline?

Got home, Quizz demanded a walk through the snowy streets of the subdivision and the cat hasn’t forgiven me for leaving.  All is right in the world.
